"The authorities allow the Egyptian border into the country with the following documents:
- with passport valid for at least six months after the date of arrival in the country;
- only per turismo, carta d'identità cartacea valida per l’espatrio con validità residua di sei mesi, accompagnata da due foto formato tessera (in mancanza delle quali non viene rilasciato il visto d’ingresso). Si raccomanda pertanto di munirsi delle foto prima della partenza dall'Italia; la carta di identità cartacea con validità rinnovata mediante apposizione di timbro sul retro del documento è accettata;
- solo per turismo, carta di identità elettronica con validità residua di almeno sei mesi, accompagnata da due foto
formato tessera (in mancanza delle quali non viene rilasciato il visto d’ingresso). Si raccomanda pertanto di munirsi of photo ID before leaving Italy.
The same border Authorities in the country do not allow access to passengers holding electronic identity card with a certificate of extension (slip of paper extension of validity of the document). It is recommended in such cases to use another type of document (passport) in order to avoid rejection at the border. "
